True, we want as many people to participate as possible.

So do we want to just say we're suggesting using Warmoths, but if you can't then submit anyways?

I personally thought this was the plan originally.

But, since we've started a poll, let it run it's course. We keep jumping around way too much on this stuff.

i'd say franken-moths should be allowed. especially since we're planning on making a few of these albums. more the better.

I'd also like to add that it should be music played by people who are inspired by the sense of freedom and perfection that Warmoth offers us.  If that Canary neck made your MIJ Strat the most perfect tool to express what's in your heart, why on earth would that be less meaningful than a guitar you've built out of purely Warmoth parts?  Any acoustic sounds on a recording that I make will be Gibson, and there's 90% likelihood that my Gibson LP or mutt guitar (which has seen several W neck but currently has a Fender one on it) will make an appearance.  Warmoth has helped push me to recreate the sounds in my head, and not get stuck in someone else's box (don't you dare laugh at that, fkn srs.).  Why should this context try to force anyone to do things one way and not another?

sure it's about community, and yeah there's no way to prove anything, but an Unofficial Warmoth album should use Warmoth instruments, IMO. I'm sure it will happen any old way, but how much cooler would it be if the info on each track had a Warmoth guitar or bass in it? But whateva...

Another point that needs to be thought about:

The Unofficial Warmoth forum members are putting this together for the fun of doing it, not Warmoth Inc. If Warmoth were putting together a corporate sponsored compilation of recordings, I could see the importance of using Warmoth instruments. But it's the forum members that this is for, not some marketing tool for Warmoth.  :icon_thumright:

A warmoth album should feature warmoth instruments. What is the point otherwise except to promote your band?
And Llama dude you are making something simple into a hassle.

just wanted to point out that the big 30 year banner in the upper left hand corner says that Warmoth sales "custom guitar PARTS" what forum members do with those parts or how many of those parts they use in a build is their business, but warmoth parts do impart their own nature into any guitar that they are used on, be it a post production modded factory direct strat or a full on build of Warmoth Parts.....
