Question about Jazzmaster body

I'm interested in building a Jazzmaster with a H-X-H pickup config.  Under the neck pickup option on the custom builder page, it says "Intended for use with 24 fret extended fretboard neck. Will not work with Pickguards."  Maybe I'm being dense, but what exactly does that mean?  To me, the wording suggests that the neck pickup option is intended for people using an extended fretboard neck, and if you do, you can't use a pickguard.  That certainly can't be true and I've been searching for some clarification without much luck.  Any help?

Looks like there is something odd going on with that box field right now that we need to fix. The statement is supposed to be referring to the 24 fret reposition rout for the neck pickup. "Will not work with pickguards" is supposed to mean we cannot rout a pickup in a pickguard for that position. We'll try and clear that up. Thank you.

if the neck going on only has 22 frets, leave that box unchecked and it'll be a normal jazzmaster body that should work just fine with a pickguard.

I'll assume you mean 22 frets and that is the way the box was originally working. There's a glitch going on but we're on our way to fixing it. Glad it was brought to our attention. Thanks.
