Here is a blue burst soloist carved top build.

Body

• Soloist Carved Top
• Ivoroid binding
• 5A flame maple top
• Blue burst
• Swamp ash body

Neck

• Super high grade flame maple
• Ebony fretboard
• SS6150 frets
• Tru Oil finish (applied after purchase)

Hardware

• Schaller locking tuners
• Gotoh Wilkinson VS100 tremolo
• Texas special pickups
• CTS pots (250k)
• CLR 5-way switch
• Square side jack plate

I'm going to install threaded brass inserts for the pickups and use #6-32 x 3/4" machine screws with springs to mount them. It seems like this isn't the most versatile setup, but I'm hoping it will be solid once I have the pickup height set. I'm documenting some of this in case others want to do the same thing.

I can confirm that the community as a whole is right about Tru oil. It is a great finish for flame maple necks. Super easy to apply and looks fantastic.

I'll post updates as I work through the build.

To secure the pickups, I drilled holes and added 6-32 threaded brass inserts.
