purple finishes?; please send pics

I'm worried about choosing a purple finish because I don't want it to be too light.  I have chosen a VIP body with a DL quilted maple top.  I'm not sure which finish to select (purple dye vs. transparent purple).  I play mostly rock/metal and I want this guitar to reflect those styles.  Any pictures or advice you have would be greatly appreciated.

I shall dig up pictures of my transparent purple bass, I would say the transparent purple will be darker a great deal generally apart from in sunlight which is when mine turns a pinky purple.

give me a few months ill have a quilt maple purple dye bass also.

This is actually (in real life) a lot darker on the BACK ...
