The Earthquaker Devices Speaker Cranker is a fantastic OD pedal, and the best part isn't even that it costs only $105 full retail. It can get the kind of sound Neil Young gets out of his old Deluxes. But it had one "feature" I didn't like - as you turn up the gain with the "More" knob (it only has one knob) it also boosts the signal. EQD says this is to compensate for the natural compression of the unit, but to me it just sounded louder, and I like my effects to be pretty much at unity gain.
So I thought about it and took it to an amp tech I use, and asked if a volume adjustment could be added. Just $25 later I have it. NOW it's the *perfect* OD pedal (for me anyway). Here is a picture of the mod (the new volume adjuster shown by a red arrow I added to the pic). A nice, clean job by my amp tech - Roy at Valley Sound in North Hollywood - if I do say so myself.
