I know this is my firts post in a while but I used to be a very active member.
Here is one of my builds:

I forsee some serious, as in "stoned Duane Allman Layla -  improvised on the spot microtonal scale caliber" intonation problems...
:icon_biggrin:

I was joking - that's a neck through neck, and a bolt on body. If you tried to bolt it on as pictured...

From what I see, the tenon just slides right in under the pickup routes.

Although it is hard to know for sure from the photo.

And I'm glad that I'm not the only one who thought Duane played really out of tune on that song!!

That's what is explained on the website. You have to do some finish sanding to get a nice fit, then you apply the glue and slide it into place. And thus the tenon portion becomes the base of the pup routes..

You do know about the tape reel running down, and the machine, which is supposed to regulate the speed, was broken, so every reel that was recorded slowed down during the playback. The were in tune with each other, but the overdubbing procedure got very, very strange. The end of each track was out of tune from the beginning of each song proportionate to the length of the song and it's location on the reel.Trying to tune guitars to an ever-so-slightly going out-of-tune track...  :icon_thumright:

The shorter overdubbed stuff like "Why does Love Got to be So Sad" were OK (though slowing down) and the two-guitar jams like "Key the Highway", because they all went the same amount out of tune together. But it was hell trying to learn songs off of it! They didn't even fix it until the re-mastered CD version.

FWIW...I did do a bit of research on these kits.  In general, they seem to be well thought of.  The following link is a good example:

I considered this one, but I think you can pretty much order one directly from PVX for the price this one is/was offered.

nice kit , I just finished a deep tenon ,  that's a good price , hard to beat for what you get
