Hello
So I have a Hard Maple body from Warmoth that came in yesterday. Pretty excited about this build! I went ahead and used Real Milk Paint's 50/50 Tung Oil as instructed without any issue. Saturated the body except for the control cavity and neck pocket. Wiped off excess; no blotches or puddles as I let dried overnight.
This morning, I noticed that a spot had appeared in the control cavity. It looks like a dark streak, almost black, maybe a bit indigo. After a quick Google search, I tried a few things... First, I scrubbed it with some vinegar but it didn't wipe off. I sanded it a little bit with 220 grit but stopped as it seemed deeper than anticipated (but I may give it another shot with 150 and more elbow grease). Lastly, I applied a liberal amount of tung oil on the spot hoping it would at least deter further growth.
Just curious... Do you think this is mold? If so, what should I do? I never had this issue before.
