Only one problem I see, should have a hockey stick headstock.... :dontknow:

The original neck to my understanding was also unfinished maple, with the hockey stick headstock and all its cigarette burns.  :laughing7:
Nope, the original neck was the strat headstock...

Yep...Pre Floyd on the Black & White Strat w/Standard Fender Trem and a "Gibson" Logo on the HS...then the "evolution of frankie" began...

Does anyone ever copy his Explorer?

You mean his Ibanez Destroyer.
Eventually became the "shark"

Yeah I have seen a few replicas of that guitar.

Got the body today, still need some parts and the current "5150" will be coming off...not sure if I'll put one w/Black Outlines on the numbers back on it.

A blend of the "Frankie" and the "5150"...

where did you get that?  His 5150 did not have a neck pup, and certainly had the hockey stick neck.

And it's relic'd as if someone was trying to be accurate, but missed the boat by a longshot.    Don't get me wrong, it's cool. but if your gonna copy an Eddie guitar, try to do it correctly.

Even Eddies 5150 had 1 knob only,    volume.

That thing is a blend of the frankie and the 5150, with too many things wrong to list. ok it's not a long list but it's a list

I think its only meant to be in the style of.
I don't think its meant to be either or even a mash of the two as its a very different guitar.

Personally I would have filled in the neck pickup route and the bridge pickup route.
Create a new pickup route thats not slanted and does not require a pickup surround.

Then i would have done the bumblebee instead.

Is it possible to remove the pickup surround? I think it just looks stupid.

That is the franky not the 5150...

I'm not sure which one that is. One thing I do know is that I have always found that paint job to be "bloody ugly"  :laughing7:

That's the original Frankenstrat, which had numerous part swaps...

Danger , come on, me pay attention?  you need to open your eyes. That is a rear route, obviously the 5150, not a frankie.

I know the frankie had a middle and neck route with a non funtioning neck pup. the 5150 did not.

Dude stop fighting me on this, I've done more research into his guitars than the collective brotherhood on this forum, trust me, I really have.  I built his first 3 guitars exact, exact exact, through much effort.

I feel like I know as much, or probably too much, about his VH1-1984 guitars as anyone.

And still no one can produce a pic of eddie with a hockey stick headstock on the frankie, I'm telling you it never existed. It's just a figment of someones imagination.

and one more thing, Danger, you have said enough correct stuff to impress me, but your fighting me just to do so, don't do it.

The Frankenstrat had this neck on it at some point. Well it had many many necks on it as I think EVH used to wake up in the morning and think "today im gonna switch all the necks on my guitars"

This "Kramer" neck on this I believe was made by Tom Anderson.

However I am not sure what the correct Kramer terminology for that headstock is. I know there is hockeystick and some other name. Two similar Kramer headstocks but slightly different angles/designs.

Yeh I see the pic, but I won't believe it till I see it in eddies hands, at which point I will believe it.  I've seen every pic on the internet of Eddie and his guitars, and never seen that one.

However, why would people make a replica like that if it didn't exist?  So part of me says it existed, but I still wanna see the pics

And Danger, I didn't mean to come accross the way I did, sorry...things in print come out wrong sometimes, still friends?

You have never seen that pic before?
Its been around for decades now.
It was a photo shoot in a guitar magazine if I remember rightly.
EVH put Kramer necks on all his guitars mainly cos they were free and mainly cos he was involved business wise with the Kramer company so he was advertising.
