Special thanks to the FretBoard Journal for posting this one on twitter for me to laugh at.

As funny as that was for the first few minutes....the longer I looked the sadder I got.  That poor guitar.

If the fingerboard or inlays were replaced, there's a possibility that the entire neck isn't even original.  That abomination should be either be torn apart and restored or taken out back and shot.  Good gracious, the humanity!

Ever taken a look at Willie Nelson's guitar?

Yeah, but Willie's is mileage.

That burst paint job is an insult to hacks everywhere.  :laughing7:

yeah at that point it doesn't really matter what it "used" to be, its just a corpse of a formerly vintage guitar, lay it to rest...

Agreed :icon_thumright:
Willie does have a whole lot of hard, hard rockin' miles on this box...
I think there might be hope for this old Gibbie if someone wanted to give it some lovin'.
However, not me...  I don't have that much lovin!

Also, the value of Willie's has nothing to do with the condition.  It's value is as a celebrity.  Like Dave Murray's '57 Strat that was previously owned by Paul Kossof.  It's been routed for Hums, a no-no for the vintage value, but who cares?  It's been owned and played by Kossof and Murray, making it more valueable than if mint.

IMHO, in 50 years it would be more of a crime if original Esquires and NoCasters were only around because collectors put them in glass cases instead of played them to extinction.  They are meant to be played to death.  They are guitars first and foremost.  Play them as such.  Play the Hell out of 'em!
