Want to draw attention to a one-man outfit in the Garden State; Cristofer Slotoroff is Pork Roll Pickups of Weehawken, NJ. Although specializing in hand-wound, custom-crafted pickups for off-sets (i.e.: Jazzmasters, etc.), His website indicates he is experimenting with sets for Strats and more.

I stumbled upon Pork Roll Pickups on Reverb.com, and the price was right, so I thought I would give them a whirl in my latest JM build (that I wasn't planning on doing, but W's screamin' deals ad on fb got the better of me... -bastards!)... and these things are awesome!

Compared to another JM that I have with Fender AVRI pickups installed, the Pork Roll Waverly set seems to have more depth and clarity. I have had 'masters with SD Vintage and Antiquity II's, and I would say these easily rival those. -Deeper and richer tone, without being dark, is the best way I can put it.

Cris was very responsive, answered all my questions, and surpassed any and all expectations for customer service/technical support! So, yeah, add PORK ROLL PICKUPS to the list. (-And check 'em out on Reverb and fb while you're at it!)

Got another one.

Just worked on someone's new Gibby SG and installed a set of "Fat Diane's" by MANLIUS Pickups in Syracuse NY. I never heard of these until he brought them to me. Night-and-day difference in tone compared to the stock '57 classics that were displaced! When he came to pick it up and plugged it in to check it out, I couldn't decide if it sounded like Allman Brothers or Skynyrd more! Guess the guitar's owner made up his mind, though... As he left he said "I'm gonna call this one Duane".

My dragonfire pickups have arrived. $28 shipped for a telecaster set!

Hey, mulatto, how are these working? Im always looking for a #deal
Tele sounds like a tele with them.

They aren't real subtle but for $28 they are peachy.

This is a cool idea, and interesting how spread out the choices users made once you got passed Fender, Dimarzio, and SD.

I had kinda forgotten about this thread. I’ve recently installed two sets from Revel Custom Pickups. Jesse, the man behind the winder, is a great guy and he turns out a killer pickup. Definitely a worthy addition to The List.

I've added Revel to the poll now -VB-, but I don't seem to be able to edit the thread and thusly can't add them to the list.
But since you've added them here, there's still a way for people to reach/find them.

I took another look at their Steel Pole Mojo pickups and got to listen to all your sound clips again. It's cool that they have them available through their site for all to listen to.

Yeah! I thought that was pretty cool. My 15 seconds of fame :icon_biggrin:  When I was checking those pickups out there was not much out there. I really dig the pickups so I’m glad I can help others get a feel for them. And the series-out-of-phase is growing on me  :toothy12:

I suppose I'll have to get a set one of these days. I have one build to get done first and another to do completely before I start thinking about another one, though.

There's some (relatively new?) supplier: Alexander Pribora pickups. Supposedly either one man, or very tiny company. Googled it on Russian guitar forum, ppl there love the pickups, also a few complaints about waiting time/communication.

Wanted to give a shout out to Vineham Pickups http://www.vineham.com/

I just put one of their Whiskey Burners (overwound paf style, 9K dcr) in the bridge of my Albert Lee GoM build and it sounds fantastic!

I had had a set of Seymour Duncan Seth Lovers in there, and while I loved the neck pickup with an A4 mag, the bridge just seemed anemic even after putting a stronger A4 or A8 magnet in it. I read about Vineham on the Seymour Duncan forums and decided to give them a try. The Whiskey Burner A4 has a similar overall tonality but a little more output and muscle to the sound while retaining all that PAF clarity. I'm super happy with it and I'd definitely order from them again.

The pickup is great, communication was good, turn around time was quick, and his prices are very fair; the base cost of a humbucker is only about $85CDN or $60USD

A little late to the show, but i tend to use either Seymour's or DiMarzio's, but Jackson has some great pups as well. Also have used some GFS that were awesome too....

But I saw this and cracked up...
