p90 mounting question

recent got a les paul double cut (non faded) with p100s.

swapped the pickups with a set of lollar p90s - which i had.

then notice that if my hand (by accident) touches either side of the neck pickup, it pretty much goes in!

ie i think because of the way p90s are mounted using two screws in the middle, the sides are loose and dont have any support.

anybody experienced this? any solution for this?

You could also put some foam under the pickup.

well when we swapped the pickups, we found threaded inserts in the holes meant for the pickup screws.

and one of the holes was larger so that the insert was loose. so we glued the inserts in.

we didnt use the springs the lollars had on them because we thought they were too strong and would pull out the inserts.

but even after gluing it in, the pickup seems loose.

yea i guess foam is an option.
