Just out of the box:
Chambered mahogany with maple top - 1 F-hole
Bloodwood / Ebony boatneck ... 1-3/4" nut width ... 6230 (not ss)
Straight 10" radius.

More details below pics:

I asked them to plug the index hole with wood. It looks pretty bad, in my opinion.
See more detailed pics including a close up of the plug here:

I think I'm going to sand the plug down a bit and fill over it with wood filler that matches the color of the maple.
If anyone has any input on how to accomplish that task ... and also maybe a pointer to a good filler that will match
the maple I'd appreciate it. The color in the first pick above is pretty accurate to the real color of the maple.

Thanks!

I got a 3" Smiley Face sticker I can let ya have for $1.62 + a nominal shipping charge.... :blob7:

Stub, I'll steal your face. How about that? That's a nice neck you have there, man!  :occasion14:

Thanks Stew.
I'll document the build with photos as it goes.

Yea. I was trying to avoid the abalone or mop plug that was the standard offer just because I wanted
any closer match to the maple than a belly button jewel idea.

Maybe an abalone insert, I'm sure you could find an interesting one.

I was thinking the same. An old cabinet maker's trick is to make it a feature. Do something interesting with it like mother of pearl.

Well, that was warmoth's original idea. an MOP or abalone plug, but they were both so gaudy looking in the builder,
I thought a request for wood, ( you'd think they'd have used maple as opposed to clipping a 1/4" of the dial rod they use to unblock the drain in the kitchen sink )
would be more sensible.

Just kidding W guys. I know someone must have tried their best.

Probably won't be noticeable one hardware, strings, and a nice burst or dye is put on it.

I'll not be using any dye. I'm just going to clear coat with Behlen's Master-Gel after grain filling the mahogany.
It'll be much easier for me to sand down that area and use filler over it, and then blend sand it into the maple, than to get into using dye.

That is gorgeous!  I'm a little surprised you wouldn't try to dye it some amazing variant of red to match the neck, but that would probs be quite difficult.

Good luck with the hole in the top, I don't know how t-to.. *cough*  'scuse me.  I dunno how to fix that without some kind of dye to obscure the grain difference, or paint.

As for the project in general: I am quite envious of you, and will enthusiastically look for updates.

Supposedly you can mix some sanding dust from the same material with wood filler and the color match is pretty decent.  Beautiful piece, best of luck.
