Got home from two weeks away and was greeted by some new toys!

Haven't got to do much playing around with it as yet, just went as far as setting some levels and making sure that everything was functioning. I played a bit with a couple of the presets and, well, they were super awesome and loads of fun, even if just briefly. Looking very forward to spending lots of time with this thing...

Incidentally, setting input level on the CLR using a Gibson ES-137 with the 498T/490R humbuckers with the helix dimed, I never clipped the CLR even with the input level on max. Seemed a little odd to me. I've currently got the input level at about 75% just to leave some room, but I'll have to investigate that further.

I'll be sure to blather on at length as I get to know the new rig, I for one can't wait!

I am mighty jealous!!
I may be getting mine pretty soon, because tax returns are a beautiful thing  :laughing7:

Nice pile o' toys! Christmas in March, eh? What a thing to come home to!  You're gonna have a helluva lotta fun with that rig.

If ever there could be anything good to come out of paying taxes, it would be turning your return into guitar gear.  :party07:  If you do go for one, I'll look forward to trading notes with you!

That's awesome dude! I bet you were like a school girl when you saw that!

It was a lot like that, haha! Except a shy schoolgirl who's trying to play it cool but inside is all bubbly and about to explode. Yeah, a lot like that...

Without a doubt. Thanks, Doc!

Yes indeed, like Christmas and my birthday all rolled into one! It is easily the most cash I've forked out for gear at one time, the next closest thing being my Les Paul R7 Goldtop. And it's a loooooong way to the next closest thing after that, haha! I'm looking forward to having a great time with it, and on top of its functionality just for playing, it is also helping me get (back) into writing and recording. Can't hang a price tag on that, right? I have a bunch of gear that I'll be selling off to offset the purchase, that makes me feel a bit more, you know, responsible and stuff...  :laughing7:

Yeah, but think how much enjoyment you're going to get on an on-going basis, unlike expensive stuff such as cars and vacations that are temporary at best.

You know, I use that same logic to justify these things to myself. No airplane, no boat, no sports cars, no snow machines (granted I'm in Arizona, but I used to live in Alaska so it's still fitting...), but guitar stuff? Yeah, we've got that...

Had the house to myself for a spell today so I took the opportunity to do something with this rig that I hadn't done yet: I cranked it to rafter rattling levels. There was a certain part of my brain that suspected the performance would fall apart a bit at higher volume, so I've been wanting a chance to try it out. I was once again pleasantly surprised. If anything, it was more reactive and dynamic at volume. Or maybe I was just "feeling it" more on account of getting the air moving. Either way (and I don't use this phrase lightly), it "feels like an amp". I continue to be a happy camper.

Just keep inning it in!!  :laughing7:
I still have three weeks till i get mine, and probably another few months till i can get my FRFRs
Glad you like it, because it's making me even more confident that i made the right choice!
