Hey y'all, I really want noiseless pickups for my strat build. Been hearing incredible things about dimarzio area pickups, just can't find any sound samples anywhere. I was wondering if anybody has any experience or can help me decide? I play worship for church, pop, gospel, r&b, blues, indie type stuff. Not sure which ones to get. And yes, I know they aren't "real" single coils!

You will get Wilde/Bill Lawrence l-280's hear me now and believe me later.....................

I have Zexcoils in a couple of guitars including the Strat I built last year, have been very happy with them. I tried the Fralin noiseless rails in a Tele, and liked the except there was a slight volume jump between the D and G strings that I could not solve with pickup height, action, etc., so on that guitar, I ended up with a Wilde L280TN in the neck and a Fender 4th generation noiseless Tele in the bridge, and am quite happy with that combo. I’ve been intrigued by the DiMarzio Areas but have never tried them.

Kinman are pretty fabulous, but compared to many newer options they are not cheap - and it's a bit of an adventure ordering on their antique website. Still my personal go-to 'noiseless single coil' if I am not using EMG actives, and I've been firmly in the "noiseless pickups" camp since 1979...

There are sound samples all over YouTube.
The Dimarzio Area 61 and Area 67 are the best, bar none.
You need to use a 500k volume control, and preferably "no-load" Tone controls.
Personally, I would put the Area 61 in the bridge & middle positions, and the Area 67 at the neck.

You are a great comedian!

I am a big fan of the DiMarzio Area series. I like smoother strat pickups so I use the Injector neck in the neck and middle with the bridge in the bridge. It’s the only strat set I use these days.

Oh cmon @Spud you’re no less enthusiastic about Wilde pickups.

We all know if someone asks a guitar forum what pickups they should get, it’s just going to be a list of things guys already sank money into/they’ve heard their heroes endorse. Let’s play nice

Here's another opinion!!!!! For me, looking at the strat form factor . ... either the wilde's or if you want to go with dimarzios... rails: chopper, cruiser, fast track 1 , protrack or satch .... some combo of those
