Newb wondering how to make a Mustang Baritone?

So first post here because I really want to know. My dream guitar is a baritone Mustang, but there's obviously some issues with building it. First off, apparently I'm the only person on the internet looking for one, so there's little information about how to convert a mustang body into a baritone because of the weird scale length of the Mustang. So would it be possible using the Warmoth Bari conversion neck and just installing the bridge in a different spot? Would I also need to relocate the pickup routs? Is it just simpler to start with a block of wood and make the body myself than to order one from Warmoth?

My suggestion would be to do the following. Get a baritone neck and a routed body blank for pickups and bridge suitable for Tele or strat scale length to ensure it will work with the baritone conversion neck.

You can select what type of pickup and bridge routs you want and simply cut it to a mustang type outline yourself.

You could also probably have them make you a mustang body and just not drill for the bridge, then you could locate it yourself, as you had said. This would be extra easy if you got yourself a top loading bridge.

Also, you might as well call and ask if they would just relocate the bridge for you themselves, I wouldn't be surprised if they have been asked for a "normal scale length" mustang before. If you can get the bridge spaced for the normal 25.5 scale length, the baritone conversion would bolt right up. You would have to make your own pickguard after that.

Always worth a call.
