New VIP just delivered... now the fun begins

the jack is not the issue although i like that set up... i am installing a pre-amp.  the combination of 3 push/pull pots (2 volume, 1 tone to split the coils in the humbucking pickups), plus 2 toggle switches )mag and mag/piezo... not to mention the dual stereo trs jacks for the outputs... don't forget about the pickup wiring!!  even the prs version has one.  the extra battery box is a great solution.  here's graphic of the graphtech "acoustiphonic" pre-amp kit

here are my thoughts... need to find a thin profile chrome dome knob just for the piezo volume.  the mag vol/tone will get prs amber lampshade i think.  not really sure what i want yet... any ideas??

Knob styles/sizes are as many and varied as clothing fashions. You could study them your whole life and not see them all. Generally for guitars, you're looking for something to fit a 1/4" or 6mm shaft, either knurled friction-fit press-on or set screw retainer. Those two specs alone will narrow down your choices dramatically, to about eleventy bajillion. So, you could start here, and expand out from there.

She's done and I pick her up today from my guitar tech.  I went with chrome domes and a mini for the piezo volume.  all pots are push/pull revealing coil splits and a mid boost for the piezo.  More pics to come after I play her...

That's a beautiful guitar. I'll bet you are looking forward to playing it. Congratulations.

after 18 hours of ownership and many hours of playing...  the dream has been realized.  the combo of useable sounds and the crisp piezo acoustic tone can be an added flavor to any player.  Cagey was right about the piezo not sounding authentic through a conventional amp.  I am using a fishman loudbox as the dedicated acoustic amp for live work and it is very convincing.  having too much fun!!!

I'm glad that worked out for you. Don'tcha just love it when a plan comes together?  :icon_biggrin:

Superb. One suggestion I would make is to source some low profile 'Q-parts 'knobs. IMHO< they look so much better than then standard knobs on most guitars except maybe Telecaters, that I ditched all my regular knobs and bought Q-parts, they really do make that much of a difference for such a seemingly insignificant part...If you want knobs that do not stick out like a sore thumb.
