New video: I Built This Guitar to Play One Song! (Part One)

I asked a while back. He said he got another singer for the country demos. Cause... that's how Nashville works.

awesome video as usual.  And thanks for the shout out for Stratamania and I!  :icon_thumright:

Absolutely, thanks for the shout out to us both and the forum.

Look forward to the next video to see how it sounds. And of course it probably can play a huge variety of stuff  :icon_thumright:

Indeed.

I hired a singer for all the country stuff. The voice on all the rock songs is me.

Haha! You know me too well.

There is only one song EVH every played on a 12-string....and as luck would have it he always performed it live on a double-neck! This means I will absolutely be checking my new guitar for maximum versatility....because I play a huge variety of stuff! :)

There's a sleepy town, south of the border
If you go there once, you'll be there twice
Lots of pretty girls, coming by the dozen
The white sand sure makes a tan look nice

Nope. My tatses aren't nearly as broad as Aaron's, but I think it's this one:

Searching for secrets in Cabo Wabo may not be the way to go...
Cabo was recorded on this, though Secrets was played live with a double neck

So then it appears there are more VH songs played on a 12 string

Though I suppose there are some people who don't consider that era to be real VH ;)

Personally I don't mind. I like Purple with Gillan and with Coverdale/Hughes, Sabbath with Ozzy and Dio (not so much the others), etc

I am aware of a lot of VH music but am not aware of what the nuances of what fans may say is real or not. On the others I am okay with any part of any bands career though I know there are some fans that feel everything after Deep Purple MKII is not the real thing which is a bit of a narrow focus.

Well you should be over the hills and far away with it. And more than a feeling I am glad to see it can play a huge variety of stuff. I really laughed when you said that. Great result...  :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:

Great find Logrinn for that 12 string retainer. I looked for one about a year ago out of curiosity when thinking of a possible future build and could not find one either.

Cases, I know Epiphone do one for a G-1275 but probably the dimensions would not work...if all else fails perhaps some enterprising craftsman in the workshop could help you put one together.

Funny you mention having the 12 neck on the bottom feeling "backwards" to you, since that's exactly how Sambora has all his doubles. I do it too, had to get a left-handed double neck SG (sorry Warmoth, I need 24.75" scale, including for my 12s) and restrung it backwards so I could have the 12 on the bottom. Reaching down low for chords and doing leads up high feels much easier than 'toher way around.

Ya, I know that's how he does his acoustic. I don't know if I've seen him with a 6/12 electric, but I imagine he would do it the same way. I like the EVH way better.

I have to invert my X-Box controller too, or I'm lost. I can't count the amount of times I sat down to play Halo with my son, and was like "Wait...wait...hang on while I flip the controller." Meanwhile he keeps lobbing grenades/sniping at me, with no remorse.
