This is going to be great!
I am helping my mate Luke out to put together his first warmoth:

A Hollow Korina Strat with a nice Flame Maple top from the showcase:
The Hardware will be all Black, so it will be called 'Soylent Black' (its not really made of people)
Recessed Wilkinson, black PG and 3 black Lil Killers from GFS
for the neck we have a Canary with Ziricote board in mind + black planet waves tuners and a roller not

Sorry about the fuzzy pics, I wiped some Naphta on to show the figuring, but it was only visable without flash  :sad1:

The Korina even has some flame on the back, but it doesn't really show in the non-flash pics.
you can see it a little with Flash (looks a bit weird as the naphta already started to dry)

Ah forgot to mention..
we are going to try a couple of different light stains from minwax. at the moment I am leaning towards no stain at all, but hey its not my guitar  :icon_biggrin:

Final finish will be a couple of coats of Tru-oil

Welcome...... Good way to start your Warmoth Addiction.....  :occasion14:

great body! What's the wireing plan? I put three lil killers in my MIJ strat and they sound great by them selfs but need some kind of speacial wireing for 2/4 position to get more quak out of them. need a super switch.

Brian

Addiction is right, I haven't even bought the neck yet, and I'm already thinking of building a thinline..

I used a prewired lil killers pg from GFS for one of my strats, and it sounds really good, so that is where we are going for.. We may modify it later if needed.

I think Luke agrees with me that we may not need a stain, as the flame is really nice and 3d as it is.
any opinions here?

other options we considered were:
Colonial maple (kind of Amber)
Golden Pecan (more yellowish)
Red Mahogany (a little darker and red compared to colonial maple)

It was soylent yeah, but then I noticed I could make it appear as Luke.. so that works for me. And yeah I'm really leaning towards no stain.. we'll have to see..

Just ordered my canary back ziricote top neck with some planet waves and an LSR roller.. and I think I'm gonna go with no stain, just oil finish, because lets face it, that wood is beautiful on that body.
