New pedal fun! Tiny, tiny clones!

My brother has a successful side project/business modding pedals.  His new project is these micro-footprint pedals, especially the Klon Klones.  He sent me a Klone, a TS808 and a Deep Blue delay.

I can't begin to tell you how cool these things sound.  The 808 is amazing.  It has so many options, and compares to my vintage and reissue TS pedals.  The Klone is everything people say that it is.  It will never, ever leave my pedalboard.  I feel like I could play gigs with just this and any decent amp.  The Deep Blue pedal is the best analog delay I've ever used.

The second picture is just for size reference.  Don't judge the weird random cords I'm using or the setup.  I'm waiting on proper cords for this setup, and I was quickly experimenting with a few things.

Does he have a website or something? I'm not much of a pedal guy these days, but I know people who are who might be interested in something that would shrink the size of the mess on the floor.

Here's a video someone made of his first series of the mini-Klone:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oojXmS6nDMs He's since refined the circuit and added a bypass/true bypass switch.

He posts on BYOC as Saxoftenest, if you want to check out his work.  He sells them in batches, mostly through TGP, and they go fast.  These are the prototypes of his series III models.  He just got 30 custom enclosures for the Klon Klones, but he doesn't offer them for sale until "they're thoroughly abuse tested and boxed up."  One of his (and my) personal pet peeves is pedal builders who "take down payments" and then make customers wait for months or years.  His work is guaranteed for life, even if "someone plugs it into a toaster in reverse polarity."

They're not super cheap, though.  He only uses premium bits, and the mini circuits (that he designed) take very precise work.  I think he was selling the Klones for 225, and they don't stay stocked for any time at all.  We were talking last night about price points for the 808 and delay, simply because I've had SO MANY requests since I got these the other day.  He's not looking to take over the world, as this is mostly a hobby, but he's like us with building, in that he can't stop hahaha.

I will say that he was telling me last night that he's looking for a good Tele neck, if anyone's looking to influence him doing a custom build of some sort.  I'm happy to forward his contact information to anyone who wants to talk to him directly about what he's doing.

Yeah, at least he seems to be careful here. There are any number of "business successes" who find that their little fund-raising hobby had turned into a fulltime job - that wasn't what they wanted to be doing for a living! Ask Mayfly about amp-building.... :toothy12: Television loves the unlikely success stories -
"And they mortgaged their house and worked 110 hours a week!"
But they don't check back three years later, when they still haven't paid off the mortgage and they're still working 110 hours a week only now they hate each other's guts too.
