Have you though about painting the headstock chrome or perhaps putting a chrome vaneer over it?

IMHO Chrome (for the most part) is evil and should be used as little as possible. Especially near polished aluminum. If there has to be a veneer, it should be more aluminum...
:laughing11:...that's hilarious...."chrome is evil"...But I agree, aluminum should be used for veneer... :headbang1:

Hey everyone thanks for all the great criticism. It’s nice to hear from people that appreciate hard work.
I am just working on making an aluminum badge to go on the headstock I will post a pic when installed.
I have a couple of sound clips on a CD. Is there anything special I have to do to post them on here so people can listen to it?
I’m not real good with the computer thing.
As for the ball milling on the inside of the guitar I didn’t bother putting a finish cut on the inside because
you never really see it and it saved about 3 hours if machining time.
here are a couple of the sound files hope you can open them.
#1 is middle position  then in bridge position layed over top for the solo.
#2 middel with distortion
#3 is my tele in middle position and the Les in neck position layed over top for the solo

Here are a couple pics and sound clips of my teles. I just recived 2 new necks from Warmoth this week and will be putting them on as soon as i have time.

Damn! those guitars are out of control! Fabulous craftsmanship. What machine did you use? CNC? or some other fancy contraption that i am not familiar with?

I do them on a CNC at work.
some more clips at

Gorgeous, but... with all that work, and that capability - why not go whole hog and make the neck too?

That's ok. I'm sure you can make do. Perhaps someday when the economy improves and your dad gets a real job, you'll be able to afford better tools <grin>

What ever dude, Hurco is the shyt....

Granted it's not a 5 axis Mazak, which is  really the shyt, but it's pretty bad azz.... :icon_biggrin:

The last CNC machine I got to play with was a 12 axis Bosch gantry unit. But, rather than mill with it, I was using it as a glue applicator on a complex part. Oddly enough, managing the glue was the hard part. It was a hot-melt glue with a very narrow temperature range for what we were doing, so keeping it adjusted was a real pain in the shorts. Writing P-code for the CNC portion of the operation wasn't so hard after I wrote the German-English translator. Had a lotta fun, but I don't want to ever do it again.
