New neck on a Stagg?

So I just came into possession of a Stagg S-400 with a really nice alder body, I am going to throw in a set of texas specials and change out the bridge (eventually) but I really want to get rid of the neck, I just hate the neck to death.

I am new to modding guitars at this level and don't know what to expect in terms of fit if I were to order a warmoth neck, would it even fit in the pocket?

Any help on this would be amazing.

    Thanks.

Hi, Mike - welcome aboard.

Start by getting measurements of your Stagg's neck pocket.  Compare to what you see here on the Warmoth site:  http://www.warmoth.com/Guitar/Bodies/Options/GuitarNeckPocket.aspx

It's a  little harder to deternine whether the heel curvature on your Stagg body will match up with the Fender-spec'd pocket Warmoth provides, but if you happen to have a Fender axe lying around you could try fitting the Fender's neck to the Stagg body.  If it's a close match, the Warmoth ought to go fine as well.
