I bought this Ibanez new 34 years ago. It was my main guitar for 10 years. It wasn't one of the high-end models, but not the lowest either. It was what I wanted at the time (minus better pickups) and fit the budget.
It has a Seymour Duncan TB-12 at the bridge, a Dimarzio DP181 at the neck, a Super Switch, 1meg-ohm Volume control, and disconnected Tone control.
This past couple weeks, I performed three upgrades.
1: It never had a contoured heel, so I gave it one. 'Got a custom lazer-etched neck plate for that.
2: As I posted in another thread, I put a new set of Hipshot locking tuners on.
3: I re-finished the back of the neck with Tru-Oil, and applied a coat of gunstock wax.
Now, I need to get back to work on my Warmoth guitars.
