New neck heel shape?

Has anyone else noticed the new heel shape on a lot of the necks coming down the Showcase RSS?

I first saw it on just the Standard Thins, now it's appearing on other back contours.

It's different up by the headstock too, almost like the Tado taper on an old Tele.

Updated CNC. :dontknow: Don't know why it's on some and not others... unless the showcase feed is pulled from a pile of varying build dates.


The new heels look better IMHO, more like the early Fenders.

Yes, we have changed both the CNC program and the way we sand the necks to accomplish a more Fenderish look and to make production more efficient. And Biggus you are exactly right; the stock necks for the Showcase are pulled from different carts with varying build dates.

definitely cool! i can add this to the list of things to tell people about on TDPRI  :icon_biggrin: they're very picky people. between this and the new vintage tele bodies there are going to be a lot of happy people there!
