New Alesis Mixer, power amp and compressor/gate

Just picked up an Alesis Multimix16 USB 2.0 off craigslist.  It will send all 16 channels via USB to the computer for mixing and editing.  Very cool.  Of course I had to get an amp and compressor ( because my vocals suck) too.  Really getting used to the set up.  Any tips would be helpful!!!
