Hi guys !

Need some help deciding which color to go for . Here's the 'inspiration:

Until recently Warmoth sort of made it easy. They only offered Sonic Blue. I'm going full custom because of matching headstock and a few other things...and I just checked and suddenly they also offer Daphne Blue.

Which one do you think comes closer to the Charvel Robin's Egg Blue ?

Here's a 'ReRanch'ed' Strat in Daphne:

Personally I always preferred Daphne Blue. Seems a bit more 'vivid'. I checked some 'in stock' pics on the Warmoth site and I've never been quite sure if their pics are not a tiny bit too dark. Has anyone seen their Daphne Blue in real life ? Does it look like the ReRanch color ?

Here's another example:

As you can tell...finally I'm about to pull the trigger and then I'm faced with this dilemma :) .

Any input appreciated !

You're definitely NOT alone  :icon_thumright:

The funny thing is that Charvel in a way was the answer to Frankenstein Superstrats, which was sort of started by companies like Warmoth. It's sort of going back to the roots of companies like Warmoth if that makes any sense...

I'm thinking Daphne as well. Sonic Blue might be a bit too pale for the 'new wave look'.

what music do you play?
These days I'm working mostly 'in the field' of Electronica. I'm working as a session musician as well though and have to play all sorts. I used to live in Los Angeles in my early 20s and did the whole Hollywood 'black hair' Sunset Strip Rock'n'Roll thing and definitely was inspired as a child by all the Superstrat players of the early eighties (but was way too young to afford any of these guitars back then).

Charvels and early Kramers have always been my favourite guitars, but finding the right one is definitely more difficult than going full custom with Warmoth. The thing is that after 25 years of playing you sort of know what you want and it's really about time to get a few Warmoth dream models :) .
