My son working on Beat it.

This is one weeks worth of effort.  It is insulting to me...especially since he is using my guitar...

I would be overjoyed if one day one of my kids could pull that off.  :headbang:

Insulting? Don't be silly. Were you born under a Christmas tree playing snips of "Eruption" or covering AC/DC licks? Of course not.

Hell, If I could have played that well in 7th grade, I'd have lost my virginity a lot earlier. Just having access to that kind of gear at that age would have caused me to lose my virginity right in my pants in front of God and everybody.

I envy people who have kids that follow in such footsteps. I wish I'd had had some youngsters of my own to beat, I mean to teach to play guitar.... :laughing7:

I hope him learning this teaches him he can play anything.  I challenged him to play it, and it really built his confidence.

One of my brother's daughters went whole-hog into the electric guitar thing from a very young age, and while she's not making any money at it, she's having a lotta fun. The band she's in is good enough to tour the US, but they come home broke because it's a Christian band and there's no money in that unless you're a charlatan. Still, all good experience and fun, and he's envious of her ability to actually play in a band under pressure in front of strangers. As anyone who's done that knows, it's no small feat so he feels like she's beating him. Of course, she is. You can play in the basement/bedroom all you want; there's no substitute for the reality of audiences. They will beat your ass if you don't pony up.

Nice to see kids younger than me learning good stuff.
Im 16 now, and my band(during its exceptionally brief lifespan) played this song at a ymca battle of the bands. Its fun stuff. I might look for the video...

ac/dc, led zep are all his favorites.  I must say I had a huge influence in what they listen too.  He is also working queen's bohemian rhapsody.

I love the fact he's clearly having a great time. Goes a long way.

Oh and the playing is incredible too. Has inspired me to finally try and learn that thing.

EDIT: Oh by the way, what's the bridge pickup in that axe?

Thanks. Great sound on that! I wasn't sure what the HB position would sound like on P-Rails. Sounds great though.

I've actually got a set of P-Rails sitting here waiting until I do my flat top LP. It'll probably not be until spring though.
