Alright! I received my first Warmoth guitar the other day and I'm already making some good progress! Hopefully these links work!

After I get a coat or two of clearcoat on the lamtop, I'll start filling the Black Korina body.

very nice.....I had an explorer in the 80s.  I love the finish you are applying....

Jelly? No, I keep my aniline dyes in old Smucker's jars. You probably wouldn't want to put that on toast because you'd crap orange for a year.
As for the neck? Wenge (naturally!) with a Macassar ebony fretboard.

You mean I'm not SUPPOSED to crap orange?!  :D  Sweet guitar, amazing finish job!

cool - I want to do something similar.

when you get this all finished can you post again and let me know where you put the strap pegs and tell me how well it balances. I want a warmoth explorer, but I'm worried about it being neck heavy. - - also how heavy was the body?

I thought it looked amazing before it left, now it looks amazing!!!

Fine job Joe.

The mac ebony fretboard feels like it was made of glass.

VERY nice - that guitar would have looked great natural, or any choice of finish...and will look great when you're completed  :icon_thumright:

You are going to LOVE that scalloped neck , my lefty Moderne has one and it took me a month to get the feel down. I think you have a floyd rose route? the pitch will go all over the place at first , but keep a light touch on the strings was the trick , and bending strings feels GREAT .
enjoy ! :party07:

I have a right-handed Moderne, but where would you get a lefty? I got the scalloped because I know that if I didn't, I'd always say "I know I shoulda..." I've played the Yngwie Malmsteen signature and it felt weird at first but felt quite natural within minutes. Thanks for the tips!
