My latest Strat project.

Considering that I'm a HUGE Futurama fan, I missed this thread somehow.

I love this guitar. I would pay good money for a Krazy Kat version for myself.

And remember, kids. Hardtails RULE!!!

I don't get the point with hardtails, you can't do anything with them.

You've convinced me. I'll burn all my Chuck Berry music in the morning.

Is this C.C. DeVille?

C.C. Who ? " the lipsticked Pig"?. You deserve Wana's Man card btw.

I think not, even though i have not but the foggiest of an idea what you're talking about.

It was a jab.  C.C. DeVille (Poison) is famous for the overuse of the whammy bar to compensate for lack of skills.  So when you said you couldn't do anything with hardtails, I thought it was C.C. DeVille.

+1 a million times over

That Futurama graphic turned out awesome.  Will the neck be painted with graphic or clear coated wood?  The headstock?

Ah. But still, a tremello can do more things than a hardtail, and still do the same thing as a hardtail.

It doesn't sustain as hardtail nor give that "rock 'n roll bends" when you pick two notes and bend one to get the other, without Tremol-no...
And you can't compare changing strings in a hardtail bridge to a floyd rose... really can't...

Do more "things?"  I guess so.  It's strictly a preference thing.  One isn't better or worse than the other, and there are pros and cons to both.  There are a lot of great trem players and a lot of great players using fixed bridges.

Great job! Zap Brannigan is one of the best characters even written ("She's built like a steakhouse but drives like a bistro", "You win again gravity"). My wife and I both have bachelors in fine arts, but I do more sculpting and she has the graphics and painting skills. I was hoping she would do something like this more my next Tele build. It's hard to decide when it comes to a finish like this. We're currently very much into Family Guy & The Venture Brothers.

A giant Monarch graphic would look cool.

Sorry for delay in answering some of the questions, some idiot builder cut through my phonelines on the site down the road and its taken them over a week to fix my internet connection.

I've decided to not paint the headstock. The necks i've got are too nicely figured. I haven't decided wether to go with a ziricote/rosewood neck or an all maple neck.
Come to think of it I haven't decided on the hardware colour but it's most likely going to be black.

I've owned Strats since I started playing and i've never used the trem, it's always been blocked. I went with a hardtail for this project as it would mean more wood surface to paint on.
