It's not tortoise. It's brown shell :)

It looks pretty sweet! but why is the name of the soundclip "nylon fingerpicking" ?
Its strung with nylon.

Interesting build.  I like the concept!  :icon_thumright:

Great guitar and lovely playing  :icon_thumright:

It's making me think of classical style tele thinilines and superwide necks.

wow
i knew there was a use for the superwide necks. i thought who would play an electric with that wide a finger board, now im like that guy has a great idea and i may copy it. you have inspired my next project, i love classical guitar.

+1! i've been thinking about trying a under-the-pickguard style build for a while, and this one is PERFECT! i wouldn't try anything more than strong pickups hidden (EMGs or Dimarzio's X2N) but wow! that guitar is beautiful!

Thanks guys.  Just remember, if you're going w/ nylon strings, you can't use magnetic p/u's - you gotta use piezo's or a similar pickup that transduces the pressure of the strings vs the magnetic vibration.  I particularly like the graphtech's because they don't have the usual "quack" that's associated with piezo's.  However, if you're going to be using nickel/steel strings, you'll be fine w/ the hidden X2N or EMG's.

I am in shock! I didn't expect I would like the brown shell at all!! but this is beautiful. the tone is great too!!
I may try something like this myself!!

exactly the first thing I thought of!!! :)

that sound clip is nice!
I like how "up close" it sounds. so much attention to the fingers, great phrasing. all out majestic.

:icon_thumright: and a half.

Thanks guys! Glad you like it.  Yeah, this project would be really cool with some other body types as well.  LPS, Tele, etc.  I bet the hollow L5S would sound awesome with that extra resonance  :icon_biggrin:

This is amazing, and I am deeply sorry that I'm so late to the party. I commented on page one then never came back.

This guitar might have just caused a divorce... I'm envisioning a bass version right now and I don't believe it can wait until next year.
