First of all, hi, i'm a new member!

Second, this is THE PLAN for my first Warmoth:

BODY
Chambered Explorer
Mahogany/Quilt Maple
H-X-H pickup rout
Recessed TOM/Arch holes bridge rout
Contoured Heel
3 pot holes, standard 3-way toggle and the top routed 3-way toggle
Cherry Burst top, Trans Red back

NECK
Warmoth headstock
24.75" Scale
Maple/Indian rosewood
MOP dots
Compound radius
SS6105 Frets
Corian nut
Gotoh tuners
1 11/16 nut width
Fatback contour
Satin finish

ELECTRONICS

Seymour Duncan P-Rail set w. Triple Shot rings
Concentric volumes, master tone w. push-pull to put the 2 pups in series
Fishman TOM Powerbridge with Powerchip preamp

Thoughts?

Howdy!
Actually that sounds pretty cool!
I'm a huge fan of explorers but my own preferences limit me to Hetfeildian set ups.
I find it cool to make changes to the standard, like the string thru and the W headstock.

Your electronics should give you lots of versatility too.

Thanks!

Versatility was what I had in mind, and the advantage of the Explorer body is I can have 2 toggles, one for the P-rails and another for selecting magnetic/piezo/both

Also, it looks awesome!

Sounds like a neat build.  Not nearly enough Explorers on the board, but I'm callin' BS (in good fun) on that statement.  Toggles can go anywhere.  For a 2 position series/parallel type, push/pulls work great and don't litter the face with switches.

...reminds me of Mystery Men, "Flip the second toggle.' 'Flip the toggle twice?' 'FLIP IT!"

"'Prepare to rewind.' 'Preparing to rewind.' 'Rewind!' 'Rewinding!'"

HAHAHA I make no sense. After many weeks busting, I just ordered an explorer body too! Now It's a race  :headbang:

It should be awesome!  I'm quite interested to see it.  p rails eh?  I've never tried those ones.  I've heard good things about them though!  You'll have to post pictures for sure.

Pics you say?? Pics you shall have when it arrives...

I know toggles can go anywhere, but I honestly cba to drill holes in things...

Yea, that sounds veery cool.  :headbang1:  Can't wait to see some pics...
I love Explorers and Cherry burst.  I am hopeing to do an Explorere next also.
Just waiting for the right wood.

Welcome to the forum &  :rock-on:

Oops, just realised that first post was from before I changed my mind about the top/finish... I'm actually getting flame maple with black dye

The Warmoth headstock is going to be interesting on an Explorer - just a couple of more weeks to wait...

I don't think 7 qualifies as "a couple"... but i'm still really excited!!

But yea, I reckon Warmoth headstock will soften the look a bit, make the image a bit less "metal" (I'm a blues-rock player :D)

Sorry - I saw the January 13th date and assumed you ordered it then and ordered the rest of the parts on Feb 17.  My bad... :tard:

OK, Update:

ITS ARRIVING TOMORROW!!!

By my calculations this is approx 3 weeks before they said it would be finished!

I'm rather excited  :hello2:

Giving my other 2 guitars maximum play time today so they don't feel too left out...
:headbang1:

Ok guys, bad news...

The body and the neck came today, but one of the toggle holes I asked them to drill is not drilled... :(

On a lighter note, pics will be forthcoming
