Yes, the fretboard face dot (or whatever) inlays. Leave the side markers - you need 'em.

Body finish is fine, although Alder isn't a very interesting wood aesthetically. A brown back might look good with that top and neck, plus it would add some contrast that would make the Maple fine line stand out better. As it is, the Maple is going to be lost against the Alder. Probably add some cost, though, which goes against what you're asking for.

where can i select a brown back?

If that's a custom body, then in the builder section where it asks for finish choices, you have a choice for top and body finish. Select clear gloss for the top, and brown (or whatever) for the back.

I'm thinking strongly about not getting a floyd on this but doing a stop tail..what's the best stop tail? If I have a stop tail..means no springs no blocks on the back right? Also is the roasted maple Quartersawn? And if I like to have truss rod adjust access to be at the headstock with a fender headstock. Is angle my only option?
