Yet another of my long-delayed projects finally graduates.
Guys, I tried several pickups and switching on this one. JB Jr/Lil 59, Surf 90s, GFS Retrotrons, plain Strat singles. Eventually I found a Dream 90 at the neck alone was the sound it wanted. It was living with an empty humbucker bridge slot for a few months, but this pickguard just arrived today and I love the look. Black metal knobs on chrome plate every time.
Should I clean the wall if I'm going to continue using as a backdrop? Yes I should.

Nice! Simple and elegant :eek:ccasion14:
Don't you just love the Mustang/Musicmaster body? It's so comfortable to play on.

Fully agree. It would be my biggest suggestion for Fender if I went back in time: Make Mustangs comparable to Strats and Teles please!

A question for you helpful people:
The pic doesn't show it, but the white stain I used went a little yellowish in the open grained streaks of the ash. I didn't use grain filler. Would it be worth it to sand it down to 220 grit, grain fill, re-stain, then re-poly?
