More 7/8th body styles, please!

I use Fusion for the design and renders. I do a lot of the initial design concepts in 2D AutoCAD but then transition it to Fusion for final refinement and 3D modeling.

Upper fret access needs to be paramount. The current 7/8 S comes up short. A 7/8 Dinky is in order. Interestingly Jackson used to make a Gibson scale super strat they called Fusion that similarly had suboptimal upper fret access. You can find pics. They tried to mediate it with a bevel--which maybe Warmoth could one day add as a body contour option on some models--but it's still not as good as having a full cut like on a Soloist or Dinky (or RG or Horizon etc).

Or maybe just shift the bridge and pickup routing on current bodies?

There’s an MIJ Junior collection Fender Jazzmaster that is basically a 7/8. I have the Strat version and it’s the exact dimensions as my Warmoth 7/8. They are hard to find though, it would be nice if Warmoth offered one.

There's very few hard rock/metal oriented offsets out there and I don't think there's an untapped market for more

I was surprised to see Joe Duplantier of Gojira switch from his Charvel Teles to a JM style ESP last year. I DIG the setup though, the whole thing is black chrome and it looks awesome under stage lighting.

The ESP XJ shape is smaller than a jazzmaster too not quite as small as a surfcaster though.

Wow I missed or forgot that and the ESP XJ entirely. Block inlays and reverse tiltback 6 inline headstock...I'm gonna say ESP beat Fender and the Jim Root Jazzmaster at its own game

Now that Warmoth has confirmed there is a 7/8th body blank option, I am leaning towards making something with extended upper fret access - a la Washburn EC-29. It's not that I need more frets, it's that I would really like more room to get my hand all the way up there. It's a bit obsessive I know, but there are times when i like to play a triad on the 23/24 frets, and I reckon if the cutaway is 75mm clear of fret 24, my hand would fit there comfortably...
