I love Coheed....
I think that the way some bands get lumped in with others is tour line ups. If you see 3 or 4 bands in a line up and you don't know much about one of them you mentally put them with the others. Never mind that a band like Coheed and Cambria are a little hard to classify and don't really have a lot of choices for bands to tour with, and maybe they are a little more open minded about that sort of thing and just fugure that they are a heavyish band and tour along side that sort of thing.
I love big festivals like Warped. You get to see so many different kinds of bands, and I always walk away with something new to check out.
