So...Warmoth has come to believe that videos are the wave of the future, and we've decided to try our hand at producing some. The video below is our first such attempt. There is definitely room for improvement, but I thought you all might be entertained to see our starting point.

Future videos will of course be focused on product demos and such, but I plan to keep them in this light-hearted and informal tone.

I think there should be more naked women. A LOT more. And maybe some monsters. And spaceships. Perhaps fewer grammar lessons.

I don't know, I'd like to know how they pronounce bocote.  I've heard all variations from guitar people, wood people, etc.  I'd also like to know their opinion on the Oxford comma.

Personally, I dig it.
I used to live in Puyallup when I worked at Warmoth & I got plenty of lessons early on having just relocated from California at the time.

Also, as I've become more familiar with local tribes in Washington state, I've had to learn a variety of tribal names and their associated (correct) pronunciation, while at the same time correcting people of the correct (original) way of pronouncing Cherokee as "Cha-La-Gi" rather than the way settlers distorted and spread the incorrect pronunciation.

Here in Puyallup we pronounce bocote as buh-kō-tay (emphasis on the middle syllable), and if there is anyone I trust on wood name pronunciations, it's Ken Warmoth.

Oxford comma = mandatory. It does no harm, and clarifies meaning in many cases.

Any other questions I can answer?  :icon_jokercolor:

The next video I have planned is for conversion necks. The script is supposed to end with me going out to the parking lot and setting a car on fire. As it explodes I do a classic "no look walk-away", then cut to credits.

I'm waiting to get the budget approved.

I approve of the exploding cars and the nonchalant/careless walkaway bit, but still. Needs naked women, monsters and spaceships. You have to plan for those. It's an old marketing maxim:: "you have to plan your work and work your plan. It's a formula for success that cannot fail. " As you can see, many of the letters used to spell "naked women", "monsters" and "spaceships" are in that phrase. So, there you have it. It's like a mandate.

Holy cow!  I've been reading Puyallup dyslexicly all these years.  For some reason I thought it was Pullayup... and I pronounced it "pull- ah-yup".

I'll just sit here in the back and marvel I am both a nerd and crap at reading.

I generally abhor the concept of throwing out videos of something that can be read, but that was well done (and short).  What I absolutely loathe, is when someone turns on a video camera and rambles for 10 minutes about something I could read in 2 minutes or (sometimes much much) less.

And I too was mispronouncing Puyallup in my head. I don't believe I've ever uttered the word out loud but I think I always had it somehow mangled to it Pull-yall-up (like what  I reckon we might do if you fell down) with maybe an extra syllable of southern thrown in it randomly.  Makes no sense whatsoever I know.

Short, sweet, snazzy music befitting a company selling guitar parts... Nicely done.

I like Puyallup. And I have no idea how I always knew the correct way to pronounce Warmoth but I always have. I probably knew the correct pronunciation of Puyallup from years of the annual TV commercials about the local fair. But videos could be cool if they are kept short and have interesting random themes. (and yes, Cagey's points about what makes a successful film would have gotten you two million views out of this video alone)
