Thanks for the kind words. It was a blast to write and record.
Yes...all the guitars I used for the hold message featured Warmoth parts. The wah sections were played on an S-type axe with Duncan Custom Custom in the bridge. All mid-range, all the time. The main tones in the beginning and end were with a Nomad neck, and a...umm....prototype body with a Dimarzio AT-1 in the bridge. :headbang1:
All the harmonies were tracked separately. I hate harmonizer pedals. The first section is basically 1 guitar, bass, and drums. Once the you hit the middle section where the production opens up, all the various guitars were tracked individually.
For amps I mic'ed up my Marshall SL-5, which to me is the best practice/recording amp ever invented. I also used a Zoom G3. The wah was a Budda wah...one of the original ones in the purple Dunlop enclosure. For bass I used a SansAmp Tech21 SVT pedal, which always delivers excellent bass tones. Everything was recorded and mixed in Reaper.
Sorry I didn't take photos. I am very much a non-picture-taking type of guy. I prefer to let myself become caught up in the moment, rather than pausing every 5 minutes to document everything. My wife hates going on vacation with me (not really). I'll try to remember from now on that UW wants photographic proof of everything. :icon_thumright:
