Meanwhile, at Warmoth...new Colored Pearloid inlay materials!

That maple bass neck with black pearloid block inlays was mighty tasty...  I'm imagining a satin black bass with black pearloid pickguard.  Do the pearloids match up?  I.e. does the black pearloid inlay mesh well with the black pearloid pickguard?

(Just realized I said the word "pearloid" five times in four sentences.)

Ha, well, I've got something special going on right now.  But maybe at a later date?

I like the blue pearloid trapezoids on the dark fretboard (ebony maybe?) a lot. On the right body, that would look outstanding. Of course all of them are outstanding on the right instrument. Very nice addition to the options.

Just wait until you see the new inlays shapes!! They are scheduled for the end of next month.

ooo you guys are just the crack cocaine of guitar building.

The new colored pearloid material is available on blocks, for bass.

I don't know if any of the forthcoming shapes have been done for bass. My guess is probably not, seeing as how none of the previous fancy shapes have been done for bass yet either.

Here's an outside idea - what about Gretsch style 'thumbnail' inlays?  I'm currently dreaming of a mooncaster with TV Jones pickups, a bigsby, and those thumbnail inlays...

I love the thumbnail inlays...they are one of my very favorites. I love the Gretsch hump-blocks too.

But no, not this time.

Think more "high-end Gibson".  >wink<

Plus a few original shapes.  :cool01:

That should look great!  :laughing7:
