Meanwhile, at Warmoth: another sweepstakes!

So, on Tuesday August 4th 2015...I got a mysterious email...

UPS Quantum View, UPS Shipment Notification.  Evidently a 7lb package is being sent to me from Warmoth Guitar Products, Inc.

Could it be a Body of Mystery?!?!?!  Here I thought they might have been waiting for me to collect enough pennies to buy a neck before sending the body...

On or around 8/11/2015 all will be revealed!

Cool man! Make sure to post plenty of pictures, un-boxing videos, etc.

I don't know if you're a cryer, but if you could squeeze out a few tears for the camera that would be icing.  :headbang1:

Look what arrived on Tuesday August 11, 2015!

Thank you, Aaron and everyone at Warmoth!  I'm still stunned that I won and humbled by the pure awesomeness of the body!

Warmoth Rules!  Now, to gather funds for a neck...

I only took a few iPhone pictures of the unboxing...

Expertly packed!

The top again...anyone else see The Joker, or Wolverine, or some Demon in the quilt between the bridge bushings?

I'll start a thread in Just Out Of The Box, too.  Regardless, I have started a Flickr album for the guitar so unboxing, build, and complete photos will be there.

I can totally see the Joker there!  Pretty darn good image of him.  How crazy random is that?  Strike one up for our brain's pattern recognition abilities.

Well, it's taken quite some time but I finally ordered a neck on 12/14/2015!

Here are the specs:

Style: Warhead
Construction: Modern Construction
Orientation: Right Handed
Neck Wood: Roasted Maple
Fingerboard Wood: Indian Rosewood
Nut Width: 1-11/16"
Back Shape: Boatneck
Fret Size: 6100
Tuner Ream: Planet Waves(13/32")
Radius: 10-16" Compound
Scale: 25-1/2"
Fret #: 22
Mounting Holes: Standard 4 Bolt
Pre-Cut Installed String Nut: Black Corian - Earvana Nut
Inlays: No Inlay
Side Dots: White Side Dots
Finish: No Finish
Custom Option: Quilt Maple Peghead Veneer
Custom Option: Purple Dye Headstock - No Back Finish

I went with the Roasted Maple for weight reasons and the fact that I won't need to have a finish.  Quilted Maple veneer on the peghead/headstock face finished in purple dye since the top of the body is purple dye.  I'm not too concerned about them not being painted at the same time.  I went with Warhead because I like it, prefer 6-inline headstocks, and they will do a veneer on that headstock style.

Now, I just have to wait until February...

Sounds like a winner. GLad you're back in forward motion on this baby.  We wanna see ACTION.

Congrats on the win and for ordering a good neck. You'll be in for another pleasant surprise on the roasted maple neck. I got one last year for much the same reasons as you. Then I played it. Whoa, what a fine feeling neck. You'll probably never get another neck that needs a finish again. Looking forward to pics of the completed guitar. :icon_thumright:
