That’s like a Kamehmeha Volcanoes burst!
Thanks, I'll check those out. I was really wanting P90's but couldn't pass up this body at the showcase price, so I was thinking of the Duncan P-Rails and maybe the triple shots to go with them.If you need a good set of pickups, I cant recommend Red Rocks pickups out of Michigan enough.
He does a 59 set that is great and does a 59+ bridge if you want a little more umph. They arent metal but for anything from clean to rock they are awesome.
My favorite set is to do a 59+ bridge and a 59 Neck with an Alnico 3 magnet which reduces the low end making the neck pickup really cut through. Plus they are about 40% less cost than Duncans or DiMarzio
Alder, with Super High Grade Quilt Lam Top. Neck is Mahogany and Ebony. That's why I had to go with the tinted nitro for the back and neck so they would match. I definitely prefer using the custom builder but these pre-announcement showcase deals that Aaron let us in on were to good to pass up......what is the core wood on this build?
I have P-rails in an alder guitar with a maple/rosewood neck. I think they are a little darker than I prefer but with 3 control holes, I would probably do a bass contour and a master volume/tone. Also the triple shot rings can be finicky so I swapped mine out for a pair of push/pullsAlder, with Super High Grade Quilt Lam Top. Neck is Mahogany and Ebony. I just have them setup so that its both down for series, pull tone for P90, pull volume for rails, and pull both for parallel. Thanks for that info ! How do you have the push pulls set up, to split both pickups or any out of phase stuff ?
You can't remember all that on the fly!I just have them setup so that its both down for series, pull tone for P90, pull volume for rails, and pull both for parallel.
EXACTLY! Though for me the P-90 mode was ok like a nice polite P-90.Never fell in love with the PRails. Does everything sort of so so. For a humbucker sized P90 look to Fralin, Lollar, Harmonic Designs or Duesenberg.
I agree on the Duesenberg, I bought a couple Dominos over 20 years ago and I still love them!Never fell in love with the PRails. Does everything sort of so so. For a humbucker sized P90 look to Fralin, Lollar, Harmonic Designs or Duesenberg.
lol I can if I wired it up but someone else with a crazy set of controls, I need the decoder ring hahahaYou can't remember all that on the fly!
Thanks, I was checking out the Duesenberg Dominos and ran across the Starplayer Duo Tone Guitars with a P90 neck and a grand vintage humbucker bridge. Might be an interesting option……Never fell in love with the PRails. Does everything sort of so so. For a humbucker sized P90 look to Fralin, Lollar, Harmonic Designs or Duesenberg.

Great to hear, thanks. I think that would be something fun to try, and different than anything else I have. Just have to see how they're wired......I enjoy the Domino/Humber combo in my Doozy Starplayer TV (sparkle blue). Have had it just over 14 yrs.
