MANTA

Wow! Nice work!

Funny, I was just thinking the other day that we hadn't seen anything from you lately.

A couple of details; Goncalo alves neck & fingerboard, bound in white (saw it in the showcase, and ''saw'' the whole finished guitar in my head), 6150 frets, '59 contour...Duncan SSL 5 custom p-ups in neck & middle, Roadhouse 'True Blue' P-90 bridge...Gotoh tuners, vintage 6 hole bridge, which I know alot of you guys dislike, but I have always found them to be adequate for my limited whammy use...Q-parts black pearl vol. knob...body is wood burned, dyed to match the neck with a home-brew of Trans-Tint dyes, and finished with Minwax wipe-on poly...I'm happy to say it turned out just as I first envisioned it...

Pretty awesome, I like the texture approach to look like rayskin...

Crayons.

If I ever scrape enough dimes together to do another build, I'm finishing it in crayon. And I'm getting my son to help. Then we'll just spray clear coat on it. Then maybe I can rely on the awww factor, since wow is pretty well sussed up with the wood burners around here.

Funny story: Friend of mine picked up a Strat Ultra when they first came out. Put new strings on it, clipped the ends of the strings and laid them on a table, then left the room. He came back to find that his pre-kindergarten-aged daughter had used one of the segments of unused string as a stylus and scratched her name in the body just behind the bridge. -Backwards, no less, if I recall.

Not funny at the time, -but I think he still has that guitar, and gets a lotta Aww's out of it yet. (-Why is everything kids do cute, again?)
