i feel like i've been waiting for this body for months and months! FINALLY got my sale body today. a Lake Placid Blue Telecaster Deluxe body. i know LPB isn't for everybody, but i absolutely love the color, and have always loved telecaster deluxe's. kind of the power house of the telecaster family. i played a few MIM '72 Deluxe Reissues and couldn't find one that i absolutely fell in love with (although i was literally standing in line with a model in shoreline gold, which was awesome. a limited run of 200 or 250, but i decided against it). thanks to the warmoth sale i could make this happen!
so i woke up this morning to find not just the body, but my pickups too! both in one day. too bad the neck will still be a week or more away. hopefully before the new year. anywho, not only did i get a body, pickguard, and pickups, but banjomikez (from ebay) threw in a crapload of bumper stickers too! :icon_biggrin: call me a 5 year old, but i do love me some stickers.
and he threw in a bottle opener and string winder. both good to have around!
also received my headstock decal. don't worry, i won't try to pass this thing off as a fender to anybody who asks. but i wanted a truly classic feel to go along with the completely custom look (if that makes any sense :icon_scratch: ). i think i definitely found it with the classic lake placid blue and the zebra pickups.
the pickups had to be custom ordered from seymour duncan because they don't stock black and white reverse zebra pickups unless a dealer requests them. even though they were custom ordered it still only took a couple weeks! and man i think they look awesome with the black/white/black pickguard. the rest of the pictures!
man, i love this color!
anyway, quick question; is the pickguard supposed to fit the neck pocket? i know i can easily sand the pickguard away from the neck pocket, but i don't want to risk not being able to return it if i could just order a new one that would fit perfectly. i've sanded pickguards down before, so thats no problem. but it seems strange to have a pickguard this far off.
anyway, great job warmoth :icon_thumright: i don't think i could be happier with this one! can't wait for the neck!
EDIT: completely forgot. the pickups are the JB /Jazz combination. i've never had seymour duncans in a guitar before, and i heard great things about this combo. can't wait to try it out
