I used to have all the pedals I ever used on a big ungainly Pedaltrain Pro. That thing was too big to schlep around and I never used all the pedals on it in the same playing session. So I wised up and downsized - going to multiple small boards, each with a complement of pedals for a specific style or "mood" that I get into. I am loving this approach. I also have declared my independence from the tyranny of power cords. Each of my five small boards is powered by a Pedaltrain Volto rechargeable battery pack - which last at least the duration of a gig (as if I was playing gigs). Here are a few pics:

That's a good idea.

A buddy of mine does the same thing. Depending on the gig, he can then choose the appropriate (and more manageable) board.

I never would have thought such moves were necessary, but I know my pedalboard weighs in excess of 40lbs. I can't really shrink mine, but at least I can appreciate why someone would want to.

I too am trying to figure out what kind of board would work best for me and am considering Pedaltrain's offerings. Don't have many pedals (less than 10 and unlikely to expand to that point), but the "nano"-type boards are a bit too small, the "Classic Jr" a bit too big. I feel a little like Goldilocks here. :laughing7: I'd go without but it's too much of a PITA.
