Lefty or Righty??

Are you going to put dust on the case of this one, too?  :icon_biggrin:

Righty this time mate. It's not for me so, no dust required!.. :cool01:

Sounds good. I'm a fan of the LPS style. It's a personal thing - the shape and proportions just look and feel good to me.

Here's one I put together earlier this year and is now my main gigging guitar. The neck is the 24.75" scale and I have since added an Earvana nut.

I made some modifications to the body:

Cut a cavity in the top horn for the pickup switch, then contoured the top for the switch (carved top body). Also cut a channel across the front pickup cavity for wiring.
Lowered the neck pocket to eliminate the gap between fretboard and guitar top and increase the neck angle slightly.
Routed a shallow area for the bridge. This proved unnecessary in the end.
Routed a rebate for the tremolo cover at the back, then made a cover plate from an oddments box (about $4).
Carved a tummy contour in the back.

The volume control feels like it wants to be a little further forward and down, but I'm getting used to it. I may move it later.

I also plan a subtle alteration to the lower cutaway to allow better access in there, but that won't be happening soon.

Look forward to seeing some pics.

Thanks.

I think I have breached etiquette here. My post should probably be in the finished instrument gallery.

My intention was to show off the guitar but also to show a few variations that are possible with this guitar style, and my experiences with them.

As an addition to that I found that the guitar balances beautifully with the strap button attached to the heel rather than the top horn. Just needs a hole in the neck plate - feels very secure.

There is also some very valuable information in this forum on neck angle and lowering the neck pocket if that's a consideration.
