Charger Green super strat!

so the planning starts. i think it would look great with a heavily birdseye'd neck, flame maple neck, angled strat headstock, jackson headstock, KWS headstock, and plain old strat headstock. i've got some serious decisions to make, but the parts for this one most likely won't be all collected up until close to this winter. i've got some time :icon_biggrin:

i've got a super distortion (full size) going in the bridge, and a dimarzio virtual solo for either the middle or neck. anybody have any other pickup suggestions for me? i was going to put two virtual solos in it, and might still. but i'm afraid the same pickup in the middle AND neck positions might just sound too similar. i'd feel like it was a waste of a pickup spot if the middle alone and neck alone sound very similar. would love suggestions! preferably dimarzio just so the wiring and wire colors are easily to keep track of, but i'm not afraid of mixing different brand pickups in the same guitar.

good call... i'm really really liking the area 58 from the soundclips i can find. i'm worried that the power difference between a super distortion and the area 58 might be too large. i guess i can raise the 58 until the sound balances out. i would probably go super distortion bridge, virtual solo middle, area 58 neck.

anyway i would love to have a nice banana headstock, but i don't know if i really like warmoth's KWS headstock design :sad1: i love kramers though. i'm thinking more and more about getting a musikraft kramer-style headstock and putting it on the warmoth body. i love all my warmoth necks though, so that pulls me back towards them. tough decisions!

oh, plus id prefer an angled headstock since the truss rod is much MUCH easier to adjust on those. makes the KWS not look quite as good

I agree. How about a reverse KWS ala George's ESP's Jay? Or perhaps if you dont like the KWS, maybe the similar explorer - or, IMO - you can't go wrong with the Jackson headstock either!

Just kidding. I think it needs a seriously dark neck, like ebony on wenge, with black hardware. Something to keep you from going totally blind as a result of looking at it.

Wonder if Warmoth could finish a maple board in solid white? Give some what of a racing stripe feel to it.

thanks for all the responses! i think i'm set on a KWS headstock, and i might be able to order sooner than i thought. i'm about to go through the garage and start selling things off on craigslist :icon_biggrin:

i'm kind of surprised at how much i really do like the rosewood and ebony. i figured super strat = all maple neck. the rosewood in that picture is a little too light for me though. maybe i'll pick out a piece of dark rosewood.

that brings me to another question... i usually end up making this thing in the neck builder every day or two and it gives me a ton of custom options for boards i can pick out. BUT it doesn't let me view all those options when i'm looking at the custom fretboards. for example, i made a maple/indian rosewood neck, but there were no indian rosewood boards in the custom section at the bottom of the KWS neck info page. anybody know where i can look at ALL the custom boards, instead of just most of them? i would really appreciate it

scroll to the bottom and you can see the custom boards you can pick out. if you go into the neck builder there are way more custom options. i can't seem to figure out where to view all of them on the site. any help? i might call them later if nobody's sure

I don't know why I've never been a fan of the Kramer headstock (and I'm a hockey player!).

I'd go with the full maple neck with a reverse Strat or Jackson headstock ccasion14:.

Maple or ebony! Rosewood is way too common. I would like the headstock face painted to match the body.
