In Dallas this week, just walked out of "It Might Get Loudl"....

Jimmy Page, The Edge & Jack White, was expecting more music, but
brilliant none the less.

Screw Best Documentary, my pick for Best Picture as well, highly
entertaining.

First time I can ever remember NO ONE leaving theater until credits
faded to black.

Must see whether you are a musician/guitarist or not.

You'll buy the DVD when it comes out and watch it again...

Read the review in the paper today, sounds very interesting...

What you doing in Dallas Jack?

Down for work, corporate HQ here; drive in from bumf*ck to the Magnolia and catch it...

Was going to go to the House of Blues and catch what's left of the Cult, but it was sold out and nobody scalping tickets out front, although there were several other people looking for them

I really want to see that film.  If they had picked someone other than the Edge for the third guy, like say... Matt Bellamy or better yet Johnny Marr, it would have been like they were saying "Here Hannah, we made this movie for you."

I saw the previews and Jack was already cracking me up.  "What do I think will happen?  Probably a fist fight."  Regardless of whether or not you're a Stripes fan, that guy is an interesting character.  Him and Jimmy Page in the same room just sounds way too cool.

oh noo, matt bellemy and johnny marr over the edge?? that can't be right.

The Edge created a whole new style and has been successful for almost 30 years, and so has Jimmy Page. Jack White hasn't.. its just a messy mix up of blues, and some kind of lopsided garage rock.

agreed, while the Edge is no virtuoso, he is the master of rhythm playing. And he never met a dely pedal he didn't like... :icon_biggrin:

I still enjoy White's music.

I never understood Jack White until I saw this movie, whether you like his music or not you have to respect where he's coming from...

The Edge was the  deer in the headlights in this trio.  He's not really a guitarist, he plays effects.

i dont like u2

Haven't we already done this thread like three times? I will go and see the movie soon though.

The Edge and Adam Jones of Tool I think are quite similar.  Rely heavily on delay and other effects, yet still vey melodic and more likely to bend then do a sweeping arpegio.
