Installing Vintage Gotoh Tuners

I plan on installing Vintage style tuners.  The hole is a bit to small and I am afraid that if I force the ferrules into the whole the headstock might crack.  I would love someone to post a step by step / trouble shooting in this area.  thanks

I use a Dremel to ream out the holes a tad... the neck finish makes the tuner holes slightly smaller.

tight is good -- a little rolled up sandpaper worked well for me

Thanks guys I am actually going to post a big thing about my process of installing my tuners and string ferrules... I'm working along side some professionals so I know that what we did today was correct and I have lots of pictures.  Of course there is a million "right" ways of doing things.  So hopefully my future post will be informational for the process I used.
