So I was meeting Peggy White, a local guitar builder, to talk about a custom acoustic guitar.  I knocked on the door to her shop, and who should answer but Linda Manzer!!  Complete with a half-built Manzer guitar.

O.M.F.G.

So I got to meet Linda Manzer and play a Manzer guitar.

A hell of a day.

Oh - I also ordered that custom acoustic.  :)

Left or right? Cause you can't wash it again, you know. Not till you build another git.... :headbang1:

I love it! I'm more enthralled going to NAMM shows and meeting builders than I am by the players you run into. Oh; and I'm looking forward to pictures and if we are lucky build progress pictures!

PS
How about some spec's, what woods, style etc.?

It was the right hand.  I think I'll start wearing a glove to protect it.  :icon_jokercolor:

Well, we picked the wood (rosewood sides and back - a really nice set with mineral streaks) and a spruce top.  Ebony everything else.  Cutaway, good pickup, a warmoth "boat" neck shape with 1 11/16 nut, and...

are you ready?

a BENDER!!!  :cool01:

Well, Linda will not be building the guitar. It will be built by her assistant/ apprentice Peggy White.

Peggy will have the guitar done mid summer. I think Linda's wait list is three years.

Acoutsabender?!?!?!?

pics will be posted as things progress.  I confess that I'm very very excited about this new guitar!!

Still freaked out about meeting Linda Manzer.  I knew Peggy was working with her, but didn't expect to see her in her shop!

Well, at $32K/ea. for her special edition guitars, I'd expect her to be in the shop at least once in a while.

That is WOW!!!!
So tell us of the specs of what you ordered? And I am of the school that I believe the Manzer wedge is a better option than the Ryan bevel.

Meeting her is very (very) cool and all, but I'm surprised that more of you aren't freaking out about this acoustic bender thing. That's pure craziness and y'all know it. :icon_jokercolor:

It reminds me of the time I stumbled across Bryan Adams' "Unplugged" album a number of years after its release:

And noticed the Bigsby on that guitar.

I played a Martin that had a bender on it several years ago. It worked fine, no need to freak out, everyone continue to remain calm.
