Please, someone give this orphan a home! It has been a screaming deal forever, and I'm starting to feel bad for it. And no, I already bought four necks this morning, so I can't (although I thought about it).
I too, had it in my (second) cart and was debating and poooof... gone. I did not hesitate on the two warmoth necks, put them in my cart and went right to checkout because I knew they would go fast. I was pleasantly surprised when one of them was cheaper at checkout than when I added it. I then went back and looked through everything else after and put in a second order for a 7/8 warhead and a full price gibson scale strat neck.
I get it! I bought that poplar strat body, sorta out of pity (read the IG comments on W's post) but more out of protection from ne'er-do-wells who would cover it in paint or mate it with a padouk and purpleheart mooncaster neck with vintage nickel frets and gold pearloid sharkfin inlays Now I'm 4 deep in builds but one will be my SageCaster finished in the most water white flat/satin I can find. Not sure on the neck yet but I had to save that body!
I might have been tempted on this Arcade neck (with say, a BK V-R in black burst) but I did 1-3/4" once and it's just enough to trip me up from 1-11/16", plus the standard thin profile feels fatter on it. Hope it finds a loving home!
I honestly was not basing that on any build I've seen, my apologies if it hit a nerve! I'm sure your build looks good based on others you've posted. I personally like both woods, but wouldn't pair my example neck with a streaky green-ish wood in clear finish. Nothing wrong with it if that's one's thing, do what you love! After all, I'm the weirdo who loves the look of poplar
