How do people do this? Float trem +1g str +1/2b str

Was watching a vid on YouTube where a guy says in passing that he set his strat trem so that it floats and when he pulls up it gives a full step on g and a half step on b. I’d never heard of that before so went searching around on the internet for details but have come up empty handed. Anyone know how it’s done?

Magic. There is a fella who said you could do it and I remember reading about it 10ish years ago. Google cant find it again but the string gauge and overall setup would be a big factor in how this works.

Just got the bridge on today. Everything needs work still. But the trem now does exactly what I was looking for. Didn’t try anything aside from getting g to do a full step on pull up. B just does a half step. Is that how they all work and you were pulling my chain? Never really used a trem before so no experience here to reference.

I am saying its possible but there are a lot of factors. I dont ever need it to pull up a specific amount. I bought a trem not a bender. Glad it worked but dont be surprised if other tunings/string gauges/string brands dont work the same.

Thank you! That makes sense. Probably have to retool the setup if changing strings brands, gauges or tuning. Thankfully the brand and gauge I have on is what I’m sticking to.
