Sorry if this question has been asked before or if it’s supposed to be self-apparent.
Like a lot of others, I spend a lot of time playing around with the Warmoth website and fantasizing about builds I could maybe do one day. I’ve taken an interest in the double neck offerings lately.
The only double neck guitar I’m kind of familiar with is the Gibson EDS-1275. To my understanding, on that guitar, one three way toggle switch controls which half of the guitar is on, the other one controls pickups, and each side has one volume and one tone knob.
How does Warmoth intend people to wire their double neck guitars? I’m especially curious about the S/T version. The control part is only routed for Telecaster controls, which seems like a really small route for a guitar that I’d imagine would have a lot of stuff going on in that area. I can kind of imagine getting a lot done with maybe a rotary switch or a free way switch, but even there it seems pretty limiting with what you can actually do down there and actually have a functioning Strat and Tele in the same guitar. Wouldn’t it make more sense to have the Strat part on the bottom and the Tele part on the top?
Has anyone successfully built a Double Neck S/T before?
